Accidentally Racist

Hello! My name is Javonda Hughes and I’m 19 years old. I live in Hamden CT and I’m a cosmetology student. I live for theatre, just like I live for cute boys, pizza, and Starbucks. Oh and before I forget I love trivia and I want to ask you a question.If you’ve never met me before and you just heard my voice how many of you would think I’m white? Honestly. I mean hello are you deaf? Do you not here the way I’m speaking.

Proper grammar is only reserved for the white right? And so is Starbucks, Justin Bieber, Indie music, Vera Bradley, you know. The “us(ual)”. Just like how black people can’t be pretty? It’s disgusting how many times I’ve been told “not to be racist but…”. Okay hold on first let me just say usually when people start off a sentence with that the rest ends up being racist anyways, but the fact that they warned you prior makes it ok, right? Back to what I was saying “not to be racist but you’re really pretty for a black girl.” What-The-Hell-Is-That-Supposed-To-Mean?

Since when did pretty have one race?

“I don’t like black people”, “I don’t date Asians”, “My parents would kill me if I was with a white guy.” What is wrong with the world? You don’t know every single Black, Asian, or White, person in the whole god forsaken world and you’re just canceling out an entire race because of the few people that have ruined your judgments. Well now your chance for love has decreased by like 50% because of those guys’ races you simply “don’t like”.

You look like an ignorant fool. Also stop glamorizing interracial couples; it’s just two different races dating. You’re basically applauding someone for recycling. It’s supposed to happen. Where the hell does it say whites are bound to whites?

Blacks are bound to blacks? Etc., etc.? It’s incredibly irritating. What, are you surprised another human being fell for another human being?? Because I’m no genius here but studies show after 2015 years it’s bound to happen. Oh and chew on this, no one asked to be who they are it just happened.

Whether you believe God created you or the Big Bang theory we all were just given this life and who are we to judge when we know better than anyone? So why are you bashing someone for the color of there skin? It’s like judging someone for a disability. They didn’t ask for it. No one asked for a bunch of the turmoil they’ve received but we live with it and it makes it a tad more difficult to do so when your getting bullied for something so minor.

Race is minor who cares if I’m black and my best friends are white? As long as they aren’t terrible people it doesn’t matter, we all are human in the end. I think we forget that sometimes. If you think you don’t like a certain race how about you get the hell out of your town, your city, your state, even country for crying out loud and meet those people you so called don’t like and get to actually know them.

Not everyone is the same therefore you can’t just categorize one race as all being the same. A lot of the times the way a person is behaving, looking or even talking is due to the fact that they live where they do or they grew up where they did. If you all you know is being loud and improper grammar than that’s most likely how a person will come across, just like if someone was born around class and posture, chances are they will act that way.

So please get your head out of your ass and read a damn book, watch a documentary, do something productive and get educated on the knowledge you lack to know because if you grow up with that mentally may God or whoever the hell you believe in have mercy on your soul because you’ll endure an excruciating amount of hell. In conclusion its okay to acknowledge the differences between people, but don’t let them get to your head and ruin humanity even more.
